How to balance raising children with running a home based business
Anyone that stumbles across this blog will see that it has been neglected over the last year or so. As with so many things in my life, I started with a great amount of enthusiasm which waned over time. Surely this is the fate of many blogs – after all, it is nearly as easy to start one as it is to let one die off. The reason for this, in my experience, is very simple – most bloggers have no clear direction in which to go with their writing.
The best way to ensure that your blog survives is to actually have a purpose in blogging. The second best thing to incorporate into your writing is some actual value for the reader. To start a blog with the primary purpose to chat about family and personal life is fine if you provide some insight for the reader. Randomly babbling about your daily activities gets borring and cliche rather quickly.
Sadly – I have been guilty of ignoring both of the above points, but no longer.
In the spirit of the new year, I have decided to change the direction and redefine what this site is about. There will be a shift from general family babble to a well defined blog about starting and running a home based business while striving to be the best parent I can be. My desire is that my experiences, mistakes, and successes can help other mothers and fathers chose the same path. I will still give updates on my boys to keep my family happy; however, I will also be talking quite a lot about business and marketing as it pertains to working from home. I will strive to make everything I do on this site as much value to you the reader as possible.
