Typical guy

Even though I remember to put down the toilet seat, for most things I would have to say that I am a typical guy. I don’t read romance novels (or much of anything that isn’t a magazine), sometimes I find it difficult to look a woman in the eyes when she is talking, and my idea of an invitation is a phone call.
Needless to say that it was a big surprise when we were planning our wedding. It was difficult enough to come up with the list of people who were invited, let alone actually pick out invitations - I just assumed we were going to split up the list and get calling. Not a chance. Soon we were up to our neck in invitation sample books from a dozen different vendors who were clamoring for our business. They weren’t really pushy but you definitely knew you were being watched!
It would have been so much easier (and less annoying) to have checked out wedding invitations from MyGatsby.com. There you can select from tons of popular brands and styles of wedding invitations and get them fully customized for your event. The staff is quite helpful in solidifying your decision by offering sample invitations and The Word Wizard - a great tool that offers several examples of wording on nearly any invitation under the sun so you get it just right.
Mary and I ended up getting a DIY Wedding Invitations kit and it turned out spectacular. The front of it was your typical announcement with date and time, etc., but the back of it was “our story” of how we got together. Perhaps someday I will post it - its such a good story. Anyways, after we were married, I foolishly thought that the invitation crisis was over . . . boy was I wrong, it only just began.
After the wedding invitations, it was the thank you notes. A couple years later it was the baby shower, birth announcement, thank you notes (again), then the birthday invites, the thank you notes (yet again), another baby announcement, thank you notes . . . you get the picture. It will never end but at least now there is a reliable and easy method to locate the invitations “we” are looking for (I know its really her choice!).
