On second thought

A few days ago I had mentioned that we still have up our Christmas lights. At the time I was thinking that we may as well just leave them up - after all it is only about 110 days till Christmas anyways. Besides, why would I want to put my life at risk by getting out onto my half-rotten wood ladder?
We love having lights up for Christmas - heck, for all of winter for that matter. It brings some light and excitement to what can be a dull, dreary time of year. One gripe I have about holiday lighting is the ridiculous jump in my electric bill. Every year it happens - the first electric bill I get after we turn on the lights, I usually have a heart attack. The bill easily ends up being 30-40% higher than normal just because of the lights!
Little did I know, but there is an answer to my exterior illumination concerns, HolidayLEDs. They offer energy efficient Christmas lights made from LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). At about 90% more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs, this is a sure way to save some money at a time of year when I normally spend money like its my job. Using LEDs for lighting is environmentally friendly as well as the bulbs have a 50,000 hour life span and are far more durable than their incandescent counterparts.
Definitely worth checking out - you can find out more information in this article.
