NHIS hires security expert for September race

Posted on September 12, 2007 in the Ranting category

Everyone can breathe a collective sigh of relief while you don your beer helmets, cut off shorts, and Dale Jr. shirts (too bad he is out of the Chase, but go Jeff Burton!).

In an official announcement yesterday, September 11, at 6pm, New Hampshire International Speedway hired security professional Mathew Butka (that would be me, stay at home dad and entrepreneur). I will be located in and about the grandstands starting Friday at 7 am and going through Sunday night, babysitting race fans in the stands. Let me know if you happen to be going, stop by and say hi.

I like racing - not in a fanatic sort of way but more casually. I have been a fan of Jeff Burton for years now and its good to see him doing so well again. I figure I would work at the track (its in my backyard) to make a few bucks for hiking boots - besides, I am much too poor to afford a ticket! The excitement and people are fun and I like to be around it even if I cannot really watch the race . . .
