Never underestimate the benefits of personal hygiene

It happens to most stay at home moms and dads I am sure. As you go through your routine with the kids, a good deal of the day is spent cleaning (or re-cleaning). From baby butts to hands and faces, counter tops, floors, and dishes, so many things need to be cleaned. What I have found out over the almost 2 years with children is the one thing that seems to take a backseat is my own personal hygiene.
After a day of putting everyone and everything first, having a few minutes to take a shower at night has turned into a luxury. Somehow I find it strange when I don’t smell like rotten milk and have spit up stains on my shirt. One very important thing that I have come to notice is this: no matter how late it is, I must shower before I go to bed. Noting how much I value the little sleep I get, it makes it that much more enjoyable to go to bed clean.
