Even though a majority of this blog is spent discussing current events in my life or past experiences, I make no bones that I also want to get paid to blog. As such I have found a new source, a broker if you will, that connects advertisers to bloggers.
The site is called Smorty. Similar to other sites, the offer a place for advertisers and bloggers to meet and a medium through which the advertiser pays the blogger for writing a post about the advertisers products or services. I have not been a member for long (I have taken only one post so far) but it seems that there are far less opportunities available to blog about. On the flip side, they offer payments ever 7 days which is nice (as opposed to a 30 day wait for another site I am a part of).
Obviously it is nice to get paid for blogging but benefit I didn’t really think of until recently was the added traffic. As I take posts from advertisers, I include various keywords to make it search engine friendly. After the search engines have done their thing and indexed the new content on my site, I get the added traffic when someone does a search on those keywords and visits my site. Everybody wins. So if you are looking for another tool to help monetize your website check them out!
