Why submit your blog to a directory?

Posted on August 28, 2007 in the Blogging, Marketing category

In the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) there are two key metrics by which your website or blog are judged for popularity: Alexa traffic ranking, and Google Page Rank. You can have thousands visit your site on a daily basis and have a ZERO for a Google Page Rank and you cannot increase your page rank if you have no traffic.

So how do you increase traffic to your site? If you ask 10 different SEO professionals you will likely get 10 different answers. When talking specifically about blogs, one great resource that I use is a blog directory. There are tons of directories out there - some free, some paid.

A new directory out there is AliveDirectory for blogs. This is built on the established AliveDirectory so they can be trusted. In addition to providing a channel for increasing traffic to your site, they also provide backlinks to your website - an integral part for increasing your Google Page Rank. This premium directory service offers both yearly and permanent subscription options along with plenty of categories so your blog is sure to fit in somewhere.

Be sure to check them out!
