Why don’t we get mulligans in life?

Today was just one of those days . . . everybody has one now and then.
It just starts off on the wrong foot and - in spite of all efforts to the contrary - continues to pummel you until you cry out “MULLIGAN!”
Don’t get me wrong - I am not someone who stubs his toe when getting out of bed and thinks that the whole day is ruined . . . I guess I am more stubborn than that
