Perhaps you should just do your job

I am sure this has happened to you - you walk into a store only to realize that you are interrupting a deep conversation between coworkers who are, most likely, complaining about the job. They notice you are there and immediately stop and take care of your needs as a customer - only to continue complaining once you leave.
Everybody does it now and then - and I have no beef with that. What really bugs me is when the complaining doesn’t stop when a customer (me) shows up! Look, everyone gets stuck with crappy jobs every once in a while and you need to vent - I understand that, I have done it myself. But when customers are around you need to knock it off! Its just good customer service and, dare I say it, common sense that a customer does not want to hear you complaining about the business they are patronizing. We don’t need to know about office politics or how much of a bimbo the cashier is.
All I want is a smile, greeting, and correct change . . .
