How ridiculous

I think it has been several years since the last time my wife and I were apart for more than a couple hours. Tonight my friend Dave and his brother came up from Connecticut for the weekend. We are going hiking tomorrow up Tecumseh so it should be a good time. So tonight my wife decided that she would take the kids down to her sisters place and stay the night.
Part of me is excited because its just the guys here - and we can get into mischief without worrying about waking her or the kids. Also, she would be stuck here by herself all day tomorrow anyways so its good for her to have some company by staying with her sister.
But another part of me is rather sad . . . we haven’t been apart for years and even though this is just one night, its seems wrong. So here I am this sad sack that should be excited about having the night to myself, but I am a bit disappointed she is gone.
