Don’t look now, but the Red Sox are gaining ground!

I will admit it - I am a Red Sox fan . . . not a crazy fan from Boston that bleeds from his eyeballs every time I see Johnny Damon, but I enjoy it when they win and like watching them in the post season.
I have been a fan only since about 2002 - so I didn’t have to wait long for a championship and, even though I don’t like them, I do not think the Yankees suck. They are actually a pretty good team (duh). Over the last several years, I have noticed a trend with the Sox - they usually do great most of the season and stay well ahead of (or at least neck and neck with) the Yankees. But then August comes around. Whatever lead they had quickly disappears and they fall to 2nd or 3rd in the division. September becomes a nail biter as the Sox struggle to get into the post season.
With August almost gone and the Sox up by 8 games, things are looking pretty darn good right now. Lets hope that September goes just as well!
