Alzheimer’s Memory Walk for Charity

Posted on August 24, 2007 in the Uncategorized category

As a problem facing over 5 million Americans, Alzheimer’s Disease is known as a common but serious disease affecting the brain. Although there have been many advances over the years, there is still no cure for this disease - which is where you come in!

The Alzheimer’s Association is sponsoring the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk for Charity. It is so important to keep funds rolling in effort to find a cure and they need your help. They need self motivated individuals that want to put together a team. A Team Captain needs to sign up early to ensure they have enough time to recruit people and raise money for the cause. You can put together a team of your friends, family, or even create a work based team. As a side benefit of joining as a business team, you get to enjoy some free PR for your company.

If you do not wish to be a team captain, that is fine too as you can join a walk near you as part of another team or you can be an Independent Walker. The Alzheimer’s Association is holding walks in hundreds of cities all across the nation, so you are likely to find one nearby.

For most of you, I would imagine that you know someone personally that has suffered or has family who has suffered with Alzheimer’s. Because of that, you know how important it is to contribute where you can to help eliminate this horrible disease. I used to work in a hospital and I have seen first hand the damage it can cause to let this disease go untreated. I strongly recommend anyone to become a Team Captain and get recruiting!
